We sent out a second media release to 139 writers and bloggers on January 21, entitled "A Valentine for Paris - Special Insights for Enjoying the Romance of the City of Light on Valentine's Day." The release was similar to the release that we sent on January 14. In both releases, we touted the insider's knowledge that a traveler would gain from reading our book about Paris. We also provided a link to an essay we wrote about some of the best places to enjoy hot chocolate in the city. We advised the recipients of our media release that they could freely reprint the article if they gave us full credit for it.
After sending the release, we received twenty "failure" notices, fifteen "not read" notices, twenty-nine "delivered" notices, twenty-seven "read" notices, and one request to be removed from our mailing list. We also received a response from a blogger who stated that she would reprint our article on hot chocolate in her blog close to Valentine's Day, as well as a request for a copy of the book from a food blogger. This blogger later stated that the book was not appropriate for her site, but she did express interest in a number of articles that we have written about food. Finally, we received two requests for information about how to purchase the book.
We feel heartened by the overall response, especially the response from the food blogger, who might use a number of our articles on her site.
